Lorna Florist is a family business, which started even before 1950. My grandad always wanted one of his family to sell the produce which he grew. As a young woman, my mother Lorna Smith worked for Kenneth Weston's in Nottingham. After getting married, she stood local markets in and around Bridgenorth, before moving to Lilac Grove and working from home.

On December 13th 1950, she opened Lorna Florist. From that point, the family-run business took off. As a little girl, I started helping sell bedding plants in Spring and Christmas trees in Winter. When I was 15 I went to London to learn the trade, and then attended night school and colleges in North Wales and Derby.

Lorna's still moves with the times, and remains up to date with fashions. We are able to deliver nationwide, and with internet and email technology now well under way, I hope we will still be going strong in 2025.
